Naoshima

1 april 2017 - Naoshima Island, Japan

A big train trip was ahead of us. We could have chosen for a different destination as well, but this one I had thought would be better. We were going cycling!
Ayako recommended us to get an electric powered bike. At first I was like: "Naaah, I'm Dutch, I can ride a bike". But then, as most people got an electric one, mainly because of the hills. I got an electric one as well. And I'm glad I did.

Naoshima is known as an "art island", there quite a few art museums on the island. None of em, I visited. I just cycled all over the island enjoying the amazing view. The weather was pretty good too. The sun was shining, but it wasn't really hot, it was cold even when going downhill. So I must say I was quite surprised when I realized I got a real nasty sunburn.

On the way back to Kurashiki I tried to capture another Japanase custom. The waiting in line for the subway. Everyone is lined up perfectly when waiting for the subway.
